Prunus ‘Kiku-Shidare Zakura’ is a very popular small weeping tree with arching branches bearing densely clustered, double pink flowers in spring. Lance shaped leaves are pale green and slightly bronzed at first. Often wrongly referred to as Prunus ”Cheals Weeping” which has a more steeply weeping habit.
An old Japanese cultivar known since the end of the 19th century. ‘Kiku-shidare-zakura’ means ”Weeping Chrysanthemum Cherry” in Japanese.
The plant’s growth rate and size will vary depending on planting position & conditions. Bloom, foliage and interest may vary from photo upon delivery, dependant on season.
